Stonewood is a fourth-generation, family-run luxury custom builder headquartered in Wayzata, building design-driven homes around Lake Minnetonka and the western Twin Cities on a cost-plus-fee basis. The family lineage dates to 1947, when Harry Gustafson began building homes; the firm operated as Gustafson & Associates before taking the Stonewood name in 1993, and launched its renovation division, Revision, in 2013.
Stonewood homes have appeared on Housing First Minnesota tours in eight seasons between 2014 and 2025, including Parade of Homes Dream Homes in Edina (2014) and Minnetrista (2019 and 2021) and Artisan Home Tour entries in 2017, 2022, 2024, and 2025.
In 2022 the firm and its Revision division took eleven Midwest Home Design Awards and were peer-voted Remodeler of the Year. Stonewood states that it stands behind every home with a comprehensive builder's warranty and conducts a thorough first-year inspection; specific term lengths aren't published.
