Parade of Homes

The Parade of Homes is Minnesota’s twice-yearly open-house tour of newly built and remodelled homes across the Twin Cities metro. It runs in spring and again in autumn, and for most buyers it is the only chance in the year to walk through a finished house from a builder they are considering — not a showroom, not a rendering, a real home on a real lot.

Our guides do one thing the tour itself cannot: they tell you who built the house. For each participating builder we also profile, we show the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry licence number, its status, and the date we checked it — plus the cities they build in and our own profile of the company. We publish no listing details, addresses or photography from the event; those belong to the organiser.

Going to the Parade?

Two things are worth doing before you go. Decide which cities you are actually willing to build in — the tour spreads across the metro and a Saturday does not cover it — and check the licence of anyone you are seriously considering. Both are on the current guide above.
