Four of the eleven builders serving Prior Lake are headquartered in the city: JB Woodfitter Homes, KeyLand Homes, Pinnacle Family Homes, and McWilliams & Associates. That is a higher share of hometown firms than almost anywhere else in this directory, where rosters are usually assembled from neighbouring suburbs. The other seven come from Lakeville, Savage, Burnsville, Shakopee, and Wayzata.
Nine of the eleven build custom homes, and every firm on the roster is licensed and in good standing with the state. Nine price in the mid band, with a single luxury firm and a single ultra-tier firm above them; seven opened a house for Parade of Homes 2026. Three carry Housing First Minnesota recognition: KeyLand Homes and McWilliams & Associates have both won Reggie Awards — McWilliams in 2024 — and Highmark Builders was named Remodeler of the Year in 2025.
KeyLand Homes has a founding year on record of 1983, the oldest on this roster. Beyond new construction, four take on whole-home remodels and three offer semi-custom plans.

Sales: certificates of real estate value (eCRV) filed with the Minnesota Department of Revenue and marked new construction, for one parcel at an open-market price, on parcels in the Lot Finder's records. That makes it a floor, not the city's total: a new home on a parcel we don't hold, such as most teardown rebuilds, isn't counted. Holders: county parcel records as of July 20, 2026, named only where the owner is matched to a builder or land developer. None of this is a for-sale listing; verify availability with the holder.
