McDonald Construction Partners has built custom and semi-custom homes in the Twin Cities since 1978. Founded by Bob McDonald and owned since 2021 by Dave Remick, the Burnsville-based firm builds in its own named neighborhoods, on client-owned lots, and as teardown-rebuilds in established neighborhoods.
Its roster currently spans nine named developments across the metro, including Carlson Bluffs and Ensconced Woods in Chaska, The Hills at Johnson Ridge, Purgatory Creek Estates, and Three Oaks Estates in Eden Prairie, Hampton Hills in Plymouth, Shorewood Meadow in Shorewood, Twin Pine Fields in West Lakeland, and Watersedge at Lochridge in Cottage Grove.
The firm is a Housing First Minnesota member and an MN Green Path builder — it states that every McDonald home is Green Path tested — and backs its work with a 1-year workmanship, 2-year systems, and 10-year structural warranty.
McDonald showed in both the Spring and Fall 2025 Parade of Homes, with each entry selected as a Dream Home, and returned for the Spring 2026 Parade; its Milan model at The Hills at Johnson Ridge earned a Reggie Award from Housing First Minnesota.
